چکیده

The choice of the silyl scavenger shows a substantial influence on the diastereoselectivity of the chromium catalyzed pinacol cross coupling. In the case of the intramolecular cyclization, two competing effects are observed. If the silylation reagents contain chelating heteroatoms in the side chain, a remarkable trans-selectivity is observed. Conversely the cis-diols are preferred if bulky substituted scavengers are used. A suitable transition state model for this reaction is reported, based on formerly published results. 2005 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved. Recently, we have reported a chromium catalyzed diastereoselective pinacol cross coupling. It was found that the diastereoselectivities of the coupling reactions are mainly substrate dependent (Scheme 1). Furthermore, we have reported an intramolecular cyclization of 2-methylene-a,x-dicarbonyl compounds by chromium catalyzed pinacol cross coupling. In this case, the diastereoselectivities are mainly dependent on ring sizes and the substitution of the x-carbonyl group. The starting point of our catalytic cross coupling reaction of acroleins with aldehydes was a publication by Takai and co-workers reporting a chromium-mediated process using a high excess of chromium(II) chloride to couple vinylketones with various aldehydes. Takai described that changing the silyl scavenging reagent only had little effect on diastereoselectivities under his reaction conditions. 0040-4039/$ see front matter 2005 Elsevier Ltd. Chromium-catalyzed pinacol-type cross-coupling: studies on stereoselectivity.

A chromium-catalyzed pinacol-type cross-coupling reaction between alpha,beta-unsaturated carbonyl compounds and aldehydes is reported. Even sterically demanding substrates could be coupled to afford the corresponding pinacols in good yields. Systematic studies concerning the origin of the diastereoselectivities led to the proposal of a mechanism for this synthetically useful reaction. Acroleins...

Radical-mediated silyl- and germyldesulfonylation of vinyl and (alpha-fluoro)vinyl sulfones: application of tris(trimethylsilyl)silanes and tris(trimethylsilyl)germanes in Pd-catalyzed couplings.

[reaction: see text] Radical-mediated silyl- and germyldesulfonylations of various vinyl and (alpha-fluoro)vinyl sulfones with tris(trimethylsilyl)silane and germanium hydrides provide access to vinyl and (alpha-fluoro)vinyl silanes and germanes. Upon oxidative treatment with hydrogen peroxide in basic aqueous solution, the vinyl tris(trimethylsilyl)silanes and -germanes undergo Pd-catalyzed cr...

Synthesis of multi-substituted vinylsilanes via copper(I)-catalyzed hydrosilylation reactions of allenes and propiolate derivatives with silylboronates.

An efficient and general copper(I)-catalyzed method for the synthesis of multi-substituted vinylsilanes is reported. Multi-substituted allenes with electron-withdrawing groups and propiolate derivatives reacted well with (dimethylphenylsilyl)boronic acid pinacol ester to afford silyl-substituted butenoate derivatives and β-silyl-substituted acrylate derivatives, respectively. The corresponding ...
